What we collect, and what we will not do with it.

Written to be read rather than to be defensible. If something here is unclear, that is a fault in the document and we want to hear about it.

01Who we are

Zambrite Edu is operated by Zambrite, a software company based in Lusaka, Zambia. In this notice “we” means Zambrite and “you” means the person using the platform.

Where a school, college or company subscribes on behalf of its staff or pupils, that institution decides what is put into the platform and we process it on their instructions.

02What we collect

We collect the following, and nothing we do not need:

  • Account details: name, email address, password (stored hashed, never in readable form), and the role and institution you belong to.
  • Material you provide: lesson requirements, uploaded documents, past papers, question banks, and the classrooms generated from them.
  • Learning records: which classrooms were opened, assignments completed, and answers submitted, where an institution has enabled pupil accounts.
  • Billing records: plan, subscription status, transaction references and payment status. We do not store card numbers.
  • Technical records: log and error data such as device type, browser, and what failed when something goes wrong.

03Why we use it

To provide the service: to authenticate you, generate and store your classrooms, track assignments where your institution uses them, and take payment.

To keep it working: to diagnose faults, prevent abuse, and understand which parts of the platform fail so we can fix them.

To contact you about the service: billing, security and material changes. We do not send marketing to pupil accounts.

04Who it is shared with

We do not sell personal data, and we do not use your material to train models for anyone else.

We share it only with the providers needed to run the platform:

  • The AI model provider configured for your workspace, when you generate a classroom. The requirement and any attached material are sent to that provider so it can produce the lesson.
  • Our hosting, database and file storage providers, which hold the data at rest.
  • Our payment provider, which processes mobile-money and card transactions.
  • Our error-monitoring provider, which receives technical fault reports.
  • Anyone we are legally required to disclose to under Zambian law.

05Pupils and children

Pupil accounts are created by a school, not by children signing themselves up. The school decides what pupil information is entered and remains responsible for the permissions it holds from parents and guardians.

We do not profile pupils for advertising and we do not sell pupil data. A school can ask us to delete a pupil record and we will.

06How long we keep it

Account and classroom data is kept while the account or the institution’s subscription is active, and for a short period afterwards so that an account closed by mistake can be recovered.

Billing records are kept for as long as Zambian tax and accounting law requires.

You can export your classrooms at any time, and you can ask us to delete your account and its content.

07Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it if it is wrong, ask us to delete it, or object to a particular use.

If your account belongs to a school or company, ask them first where they control the record — we will help them action it.

Write to [email protected] and we will respond. If you are not satisfied with our response you may complain to the relevant Zambian data protection authority.

08Changes to this notice

If we change how we handle personal data in a way that affects you, we will say so on this page and, for material changes, by email before the change takes effect.
